Service/Missions

  The  Upper Marlboro Food Bank

The Marlboro Churches' Food Bank is a ministry
begun in 1982 which helps needy persons in our
community.  The Food Bank distributes food  which is
collected from various churches in Upper Marlboro  
to the community on the second Saturday of each
month.

    Forestville Pregnancy Center
           at Marlow Heights
This mission helps to support women in a crisis
pregnancy. The donations are used to provide
education, rent money or supplies for medical  testing.

Community Support System, Inc (CSS)
  of Prince Georges County -
This mission helps low and moderate-income families
and senior citizens access services; acts as an
advocate for needed services; and  provides local
programs that will raise the quality of life, dignity, and
independence in the community.

NM Carroll United Methodist Home  
This mission provides housing and healthcare options
to senior adults. Services include skilled nursing and
rehabilitation, assisted living, retirement living,
consulting and managing services, and a variety of
community based services.

HOPE Fund  (Baltimore-Washington  
                    Conference)
This mission provides funding for mission and
ministries in Zimbabwe.
  
Good News Jail & Prison Ministry
P. G. Detention Center Jail Ministry
This mission helps to meet the spiritual needs of
both inmates and staff through a ministry that
includes evangelism, discipleship, and pastoral
attention.

              Young Life
This mission Introduces adolescents to Jesus
Christ and helps them to grow in their faith

    The Voice of the Martyrs
This ministry is a non-profit, inter-denominational
Christian organization dedicated to assisting the
persecuted church worldwide.


   Retired UM Missionary–
   Rev. Mary Johnson
This mission supports the ministry of Rev. Mary
Johnson in Sierra Leone, East Africa.  This
ministry provide care, shelter and spiritual
guidance to orphans.

   Street Lights of Bethany -
This mission preaches the Gospel to the poor.
It reflects Jesus' hands extended to heal the
brokenhearted, to repair the shattered, leading
them by hand to caring community resources and
churches.

Bethel United Methodist encourages volunteer services and financial support to many organizations and projects
that provide immediate assistance to those in need.  Opportunities include work teams, special offerings,
and special support to mission projects each month.
